Transport police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault on a member of staff on a train.

At about 6.45am on Thursday, August 6, a man boarded a train travelling from Hull’s Paragon Station to Doncaster without a ticket.

A member of train staff told him he would have to leave the train at the next station, Hessle.

British Transport Police (BTP) say the man then pushed the member of staff and punched him in the face. The victim suffered concussion, “severe bruising” to the neck and chest, and needed stitches for an injury to an ear.

“Officers believe the man in the CCTV image could have information that may assist their enquiries,” BTP said.
