Bishop Burton College is preparing to welcome the public back to its stunning campus for the return of its hugely popular Spring Live event.

Following the success of last year’s special edition, which celebrated the college’s 70th anniversary and attracted large crowds for a day of family-friendly activities, Spring Live 2026 promises to be even bigger.

The event, from 10am-3pm on Sunday, May 31, will once again highlight the college’s specialist land-based curriculum, with students and staff working together to deliver a wide range of hands-on activities, demonstrations and interactive exhibits.

Visitors can expect a packed programme featuring everything from animal encounters and agricultural displays to creative workshops and live entertainment.

Spring Live will showcase not only the breadth of courses available at Bishop Burton College, near Beverley, but also its strong links with industry and the local community.

GREAT DAY OUT: Spring Live 2026 will feature machinery displays

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the college’s extensive facilities, meet students and tutors and gain a real insight into the practical, career-focused education on offer.

Highlights are set to include sheepdog demonstrations, animal feeding experiences, horse trials, tractor and machinery displays, assault courses, face painting and craft activities.

There will also be trade and craft stands, along with opportunities to sample locally produced food and drink at a farmers’ market.

The event will provide a platform for local businesses and organisations to connect with the community, reinforcing the college’s role as a hub for rural enterprise and innovation.

Danny Metters, principal and CEO of Bishop Burton College, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing Spring Live back in 2026 and everyone across the college is really looking forward to welcoming visitors onto campus once again.

ENTERTAINMENT: Horse trials will be among the attractions at Bishop Burton College’s Spring Live event

“Spring Live is a fantastic opportunity to showcase everything that makes Bishop Burton special – from our outstanding facilities and diverse curriculum to the passion and expertise of our staff and students. It’s a brilliant day for families and the wider community.

“After the success of last year’s event, we’re excited to build on that momentum and make 2026 even more memorable. We’re proud of our strong community connections and events like this really bring those relationships to life.”

In addition to being a popular day out, Spring Live plays an important role in inspiring the next generation. By giving visitors the chance to experience subjects such as agriculture, animal management, equine studies, engineering and more in a hands-on environment, the event helps demonstrate the diverse range of career opportunities available within land-based industries.

Sponsorship opportunities are also on offer, providing businesses with valuable exposure and the chance to support a major regional event.

Established in 1954, Bishop Burton College has grown into one of the UK’s leading land-based institutions, offering courses from entry level through to postgraduate study.
