Humber Street Sesh wristbands go on sale

By Simon Bristow, Co-Editor

Recycled wristbands for Humber Street Sesh are on sale now from independent outlets across the city.

‍The grassroots music festival returns to Hull Marina on Saturday, August 1, bringing together more than 100 acts across ten stages.

Headline artists are set to be announced early June.

Following the sell-out of the first release of discounted Tier 1 tickets last week, a limited number of Tier 2 tickets and wristbands are now available for £25 plus booking fee.

‍The festival champions the best in regional emerging talent alongside acclaimed artists from further afield. This year’s event will also feature expanded community experiences designed to enhance the festival experience.

‍This year’s festival wristbands are sponsored by POWK (Play One We Know), a platform dedicated to supporting grassroots artists, venues, festivals and music communities.

Organisers are now operating Sesh as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in the hope of securing a more sustainable financial future.

‍Festival director Dave Mays said: ‍“POWK share our passion for grassroots music, so we’re incredibly grateful to have them on board as our wristband sponsor this year. Through their digital donation platform, festivalgoers can directly support Humber Street Sesh CIC and help sustain the future of this festival and the wider community work we do.

“Like many independent festivals, we’ve faced real challenges getting the event over the line this year. The support we’ve received from partners, local businesses and our audience has been vital.

“Every wristband sold and every donation made genuinely helps keep Humber Street Sesh alive and accessible for future generations.”

‍Gerard Toplass, co-founder of POWK, said: ‍“Humber Street Sesh represents everything that’s important about grassroots music and community culture. Festivals like this give emerging artists a vital platform, support independent venues, and bring people together through shared experiences.

‍“At POWK, we believe grassroots music needs meaningful support now more than ever, which is why we’re proud to partner with Humber Street Sesh this year. By supporting the festival and encouraging donations through our platform, we hope to help ensure this incredible event can continue to grow and thrive for years to come.”

‍The CIC status means all money from funding, donations and sponsorship are reinvested back into the local community and grassroots music initiatives. Festivalgoers can donate safely through the FCA-regulated Yuubee platform when purchasing wristbands digitally, with QR codes available both at participating outlets and on festival wristbands themselves.

‍Dave Mays added: ‍“The first release sold out instantly, so we’d encourage people to grab a wristband while the lower price tier is still available. Not only does it guarantee entry at the best price, but it also helps support an independent festival that belongs to the community.”

‍Wristbands are available from outlets including:

  • Chinese Laundry (Humber Street)

  • Beasleys (Hepworth’s Arcade)

  • Queens Hotel (Queens Road)

  • Art & Soul (Flemingate, Beverley)

  • Dias (The Weir, Hessle)

  • Social (Humber Street)

‍Payment can be made via mobile QR code, card/contactless, or cash. Accepted payment methods may vary by outlet. For full details, visit humberstreetsesh.co.uk.

‍The above outlets can sell wristbands only and are unable to exchange tickets for wristbands. Official wristband exchange locations will be confirmed in due course.

The event runs from noon to 11pm.‍ ‍
