M&S reveals refurbished Anlaby store

TRANSFORMED: The official re-opening of the M&S store in Anlaby

By Rick Lyon, Co-Editor

M&S has re-opened its Anlaby food store following a six-week refurbishment.

Hull FC players Joe Batchelor and Herman Ese’ese joined store manager Tracey Vessey and Percy Pig to officially re-open the store and welcome customers back inside.

The transformation of the 14,000 sq ft fresh market-style store sees a new layout, more products and new features to explore.

Customers will find a new in-store bakery and coffee counter serving a range of barista-made hot drinks, from M&S’ signature ‘Magic Coffee’ to iced mocha.

The M&S team of store bakers are serving up a range of bread and treats, from ‘Collection Sourdough’ to the newly launched ‘Dunked N’ Loaded Doughnuts’.

More fresh produce is available from M&S’ Select Farms, over 1,000 of which are based in Yorkshire, alongside a dedicated flower shop.

Other highlights include M&S’ cheese barge, a larger frozen range and wine shop.

Tracey celebrated 40 years at M&S last year, having begun her career as a Christmas temp in Grimsby. After working across various local stores, she returned to Anlaby four years ago and now leads the 70-strong team.

She said: “We have counted down the days to reveal our new and improved store to customers and the reaction was amazing.

“It was particularly special to be joined by the Hull FC players to cut the ribbon, and a massive thanks to my whole team who have worked hard to get the store ready.

“To our customers, I promise the transformed store has been worth the wait, and we can’t wait to welcome you back and showcase the trusted value, exceptional quality we have, alongside that touch of M&S magic of course.”

Opening hours for the new store are between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday, and between 10am and 4pm Sundays.
