On Thursday, January 16, 2025, a passionate group of advocates gathered at Docks Beers Academy, Grimsby, for the first Humber Place Brand Ambassador Meeting.
This wasn’t just an event, it was a powerful call to action, urging ambassadors to take ownership of the Humber Place Brand and push its reach further than ever before.
Diana Taylor, managing director of Future Humber, set the tone with a compelling message: ambassadors are not just supporters; they are the drivers of Humber’s transformation. Deb Oxley OBE, Nina Stobart, and Anja Hazebroek from the Humber Place Brand Steering Group further ignited this feeling, guiding ambassadors to understand the true significance of their role.
More than explaining the ambassadorial function, they inspired attendees to embrace the brand as their own, to unite under its banner, and to amplify its reach far and wide, turning the Humber Place Brand into a movement with lasting legacy.
Olly Burdett, content and design executive at Future Humber, led the group in a deeper exploration of the 4Rs, urging ambassadors to connect Humber’s values to their businesses and projects, taking them beyond mere understanding to meaningful action.
Diana sparked fresh ideas on how the Humber Place Brand can live in every interaction, from recruitment and customer engagement to global representation.
Simon Jones then demonstrated the power of the brand filter, explaining how it has already shaped successful projects like the Hull and East Yorkshire Business Awards. This set the stage for a hands-on workshop, where projects like Engineering and Construction Week and the Whitefriargate redevelopment were tested through the Humber Place Brand lens.
Ambassadors dove into discussions, discovering ways to elevate and strengthen these initiatives, proving the brand’s power in action.
