A child aged three was rescued from the lake in Pearson Park by a member of the public.

Humberside Police said they were called to the incident by the ambulance service at about 3.20pm on Wednesday, April 8.

The child had been rescued, apparently unharmed, before officers arrived. The child was taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “Officers received a call from our colleagues in the ambulance service reporting that a child had been rescued from a pond on Pearson Park in Hull at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

“Officers were immediately deployed, and thankfully, the three-year-old child had already been rescued by a member of the public. The child did not sustain any injuries as a result, and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”
