Boy, 7, seriously hurt in electric scooter collision with pedestrian

A boy aged seven suffered serious injuries when an electric scooter he was riding collided with a pedestrian.

The boy and a 32-year-old man, who was also badly hurt, were riding the scooter on a drain bank between Holderness Road and Saltshouse Road when the collision happened at about 9.30am on Sunday, March 29.

The pedestrian, a man aged 46, suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information.

Humberside Police said: “Emergency services attended and a 32-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. The pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, including dashcam footage, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 142 of 29 March.”
